Selection and breeding patterns in goat farming

Selection of breed is very important in goat rearing. Malabari and Attappadi breeds are breeds that produce more milk. A one-year-old goat weighs about 20 kg. Preference should be given to choosing goats that are at least 2 years old and free from physical defects. Goat rearing methods: The first method is to raise the goats by tying them with ropes around the perimeter, which is suitable for farmers with one or two goats. The next method is to raise more goats in sheds, in which leaves and grass are given separately as well as feed. The third method is to allow the goats to leave the shed for a few hours every day, which reduces the amount of feed. The method of raising goats in cages does not require a spacious house or barn. A roof can be built on the side of an existing building using cheap roofing sheets. The floor of the shed should be raised. A typical project for two goats would require a shed of about 6 square meters.
